Occupational Injury Statistics
To effectively monitor all occupational injury statistics, we include not only general employees but also other workers such as contractors within the plant area. This comprehensive approach enables us to calculate both the frequency rate (FR) and severity rate (SR) of disabling injuries. Beyond managing internal employee safety, Walrus Pump extends its oversight to external entities to minimize the impact of occupational disasters.
In 2023, the disabling injury frequency rate among Walrus Pump employees was 16.86, and the severity rate (SR) was 27.63. Notable incidents included one work safety accident due to failure to follow operating SOPs, resulting in a sixmonth recovery period for the injured employee. Additionally, there were 12 cases involving driving accidents, puncture injuries from not wearing safety shoes, and other incidents related to non-compliance with SOPs. Walrus Pump is committed to enhancing occupational safety through ongoing education and SOP training. Our goal is to achieve a “zero injuries” work environment.
For other workers (such as contractors) in the plant area, both the disabling frequency rate (FR) and severity rate (SR) were 0. T The occupational disease rate (ODR) for both Walrus employees and non-employee workers on-site also remained at 0 in 2023. We did not experience any significant occupational injury incidents and provided special health examinations, including noise-related checks, for employees involved in ultrasonic welding.
Hazard Identification and Risk Prevention
We implement appropriate measures after identifying potential hazards to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for our employees.
Plant Emergency Response Drill
For the safety of plant employees, the Sanzhi Plant (New Taipei City) and Zhengyi Plant (Lujhu District, Kaohsiung City) conduct fire drills twice a year with the assistance of the fire department. The objective is to train employees in how to respond to fire incidents and operate fire extinguishers to reduce the negative impact of disasters.
